South Park, which for 200 episodes has been slamming, bashing and embarrasing everyone in sight, got censored on Comedy Central this week. Trey Parker and Matt Stone have been making fun of Christians, gays, Jews, and everyone else with a difference. But try and throw Muslims in the mix, and they found themselves getting death threats.
A radical Muslim web site threatened they would end up like Theo van Gogh for portraying the prophet Mohammed in a bear costume (probably because his image cannot be shown). The website included the address of the cartoon’s production site.
So, in America, land of the free speech and home of the individual rights protected by a 250 year old constitution, there are some topics that are off limits. Hmmm.
