Holland is sailing an abortion ship close to Spain to offer off-shore abortions for citizens of a country that is quite conservative when it comes to abortion.
Spain decriminalised abortion in 1985 but only for certain cases: up to 12 weeks of pregnancy after a rape; up to 22 weeks in the case of malformation of the foetus; and at any point if the pregnancy represents a threat to the physical or mental health of the woman.
This is a decent take on the issue. Now, the Dutch are providing an out. Parking in international waters, they can really do what they want. Apparently if you’re Dutch, a fetus ain’t much. Sad.
Portugal banned the same ship earlier.
