Monkey Business

This picture is causing a lot of controversy. Released after the shooting of Travis the crazed pet chimp, and the nearly as crazy signing of the economic stimulus bill, the comic has drawn ire from animal activists, civil rights activists and probably everyone else in between.

I’m surprised at the gall of the comic, especially so soon after the tragic mauling of an innocent woman. But to suggest that it is racist is really reading too much into this. The comic creator is clearly poking fun at the crappy stimulus bill. And that’s all I’m going to say about that.
