Happy Guy Fawkes Day!

Remember, remember the fifth of November,
The gunpowder, treason and plot,
I know of no reason
Why gunpowder treason
Should ever be forgot
Guy Fawkes, Guy Fawkes, ’twas his intent
To blow up the King and Parliament.
Three score barrels of powder below,
Poor old England to overthrow;
By God’s providence he was catch’d
With a dark lantern and burning match.
Holloa boys, holloa boys, make the bells ring.
Holloa boys, holloa boys, God save the King!
Hip hip hoorah!

Other countries sure celebrate funny things :)

I was flipping through channels when I stumbled on V for Vendetta. Forgot it was the 5th. This was first posted one year ago today…

  1. Aw, and here I was thinking I was the only who thought to commemorate Guy Fawkes Day with the poem. I only used the first stanza, though. And yes, it is a strange celebration.

  2. My wife and I married on the 5th of November…

  3. Keep the gunpowder out of the bedroom.
You better remember, remember the 5th of November

  4. I remembered remembered once again! I can’t believe I’ve been married three years…heck, I can’t believe she married me!!….ooops…inner monologue coming out again… :)
